HOW IS COW DUNG FERMENTED

Preparation
Tools: mixer; plastic container or cement pool (or soil pit pad plastic film); plastic film; pulverizer (ordinary agricultural type); shovel; turning machine.
Fermentation strains: Cow dung starter.
Formula 1: 1000 kg of dry cow dung, 0.25 kg of cow dung starter strain,
Formula 2: 700-900 kg of wet cow dung, 100-300 kg of wheat branor straw powder, and 0.25 kg of cow dung starter strain.
Specific operation method
1. Preparation of materials and bacteria: Prepare the manure that needs to be fermented, preferably fresh cow manure (the fermentation effect of fresh manure is better than that of old manure), such as: about 1 ton of fresh cow manure plus 0.25 kg of Sukehan cow manure starter. First, mix the cow dung starter with rice bran (or corn flour, wheat bran) in a ratio of 1:5~10 for use.
2. Cow dung construction: pile the prepared cow dung while spreading bacteria. The pile height and volume should not be too short or too small. Requirements: The pile height is 1.5-2 meters, the width is 2 meters, and the length is not limited.
3. Adjust moisture. The moisture content of fermented cow dung should be controlled at 40-65%. Judgment of moisture content: Grab a handful of cow dung tightly with your hands, see watermarks between your fingers but not dripping water, and disperse when you land. Less water, slower fermentation, more water and poor ventilation, will also lead to the work of “septic bacteria” and produce odor. Therefore, we must grasp the moisture content.
4. Start temperature. The starting temperature should be above 15 ℃ (it can be operated in four seasons, not affected by the season, try to ferment indoors or in a greenhouse in winter), and the fermentation temperature should be controlled below 70-75 ℃.
5. Mix well and ventilate. Gymboree cow dung starter requires good (consuming) oxygen for fermentation. Therefore, it is necessary to increase oxygen supply measures during the operation process, so that it is appropriate to mix well, turn frequently and ventilate. Otherwise, anaerobic fermentation will cause odor and affect the fertilizer effect.
6. Fermentation is completed. Generally, after 48 hours of accumulation of cow dung, the temperature rises to 50~60℃, and it can reach above 65℃ on the third day. It needs to be overturned once at this high temperature. Under normal circumstances, there will be two times above 65℃ during the fermentation process. At high temperature, the fermentation can be completed by overturning twice, and the fermentation can be completed within a week normally. The material is dark brown, and the temperature begins to drop to room temperature, indicating that the fermentation is complete.
